Today I thought I’d share some fan requests and random thoughts that have popped up since starting this blog three weeks ago.

Finger Lickin' yikes

This was a photo a fan sent me of something he had just eaten.  I must admit I was intrigued.  Herr’s Baby Back Rib Chips, huh?  Anytime a chip is meat-flavored, I’m in.  I must know – do these chips taste the seasoning/sauce that typically goes on BBQ ribs, or do they actually TASTE like ribs?  Someone send me a bag of these, please!

A Cheez-It box necklace!

A friend of mine, Neil, sent me this photo while HE was vacationing at the beach.  What is it?  If you look closely, it’s clearly a Cheez-It box that has been folded into a beautiful necklace!  Brilliant work, Neil.  If I ever have a JFG jewelry line, this will be the headline item.

My first White Whale

Obviously, one of the reasons I started this blog was to review wacky junk foods, snacks, etc.  But sometimes, these snacks come and go, and the companies never reproduce them!  BOOOO!  WHY???? The Strawberry Milkshake Creme Oreos are one of these lost products.  I’ve had them twice over the past four years, and I just love them.  I’m not going to review them right now, but suffice it to say that I thought they were superb.  And now, they are no where to be seen.  If I ever see these in the stores again, I’m buying out the stock.  Limited Edition…I hate those words.

My second White Whale

Even worse is when the snack company TELLS you the product will be disappear forever, as Doritos did when they introduced two flavors: Wild White Nacho and Smokin’ Cheddar BBQ.  These two flavors went head-to-head, and eaters were told to vote on the flavor that would stay, and the other would be sent packing.  I swear I voted for Wild White Nacho, an amazing flavor of Doritos, every day for three months. Smokin’ Cheddar BBQ tasted like unhappiness and remorse.  The results came out – and the effing BBQ flavor won.  My Wild White Nacho was quickly swept off the shelves, never to be seen again.  I was heartbroken.  If anyone knows where I can get some of these (two years later), please tell me.  I will pay handsomely 😉
