Happy Valentine’s Day & CONTEST TIME! Win a #MerciAwards Chocolate Joy Of Thank You Red Carpet Kit

Junk Food Nation, it’s Valentine’s Day again, so a happy one to all of you!  Also, a big smooch to the Junk Food Gal, who makes my life more vivid. #daaaaaaaaaaawwhhhcheese. And she likes to buy me pizza sometimes, so that’s nice.

It is also Oscar Season and CONTEST TIME, because my friends at Merci Chocolate have contacted me to host another giveaway in honor of the Red Carpet Season!  The Oscars are set to happen on February 24th, and soon we’ll know whether Ben Affleck or Kathryn Bigelow get to give the finger to the Academy.

Oscar speeches are always fun during these award shows, which is to say the more succinct they are, the better they are. I don’t mind Oscar thank you speeches, because it IS a big moment and people SHOULD thank everyone that helped them get there…but for me, once these stars start rattling off people I don’t recognize, then I start to zone out.

“I’d like to thank the director (good), my co-stars (of course), my agent (naturally), my family and friends for support (kudos), Bill the director of photography (…ok), the producer (back on track), the director of lighting (ummmm), the sound crew (….k), Ernie (who?), and of course MaxEmmaJoshToddRyderCodyBillWillMillieAlKendraAndAllThePeopleFromTexas!!!! (GAAAAAAH)”

If I had to give a meaningful thank you speech, my #1 thank you would go to my mom. From driving me to violin lessons every week as a child to helping me learn how to cook now, she has been there for me. Still cleaning up after me.  Moms are funny like that, you know? Looking back to when I was a kid, I realize now that she gave me CONSTANT attention – something that kept me out of trouble and on the right path. And let me tell ya, I stressed my mom out to no end at times during my life.  Now that I’m older, I realize that my mom is a kid at heart, and nothing puts me in a better mood than when I see HER in a great mood.  So thank you, Mama – for being such a good one.

Alright, it’s contest time.  Let’s take a look at what the prize is…the following is a Merci Chocolate Joy Of Thank You Red Carpet Kit!

Merci Chocolate Joy Of Thank You Red Carpet Kit: TOASTING TIPS!

At first, when I saw this page describing how to give a toast and thank you, I thought it was a little cheesy – but honestly, as I read it, I realized how awful some toasts I’d heard in the past have been, and how much they could’ve used these simple tips.  The worst toasts have been the ones that were more about the toaster, rather than the toastee – we’ve all endured those.

So there you have it: a fun Merci Chocolate Joy Of Thank You Red Carpet Kit, perfect for watching the Oscars with some bubbly, some popcorn, and some sweets.  How do you win?
