Junk Food Nation, I’ve been watching quite possibly the cheesiest, yet most riveting shows on TV right now.  It’s called ROBOT COMBAT LEAGUE, and it’s on SyFy (where else?)

The premise is simple.  You take uber nerds and various people from the tech industry, pair them with hot chicks or professional athletes, and give them life size Rock-Em Sock-Em robots to fight with.  The Athletic types don crazy ass exo-suits – thus, whatever actions they do, the robot does.  The Other guys work the less and maneuvering like a video game.  It is hokey, it is absurd, and I cannot believe I KEEP WATCHING IT.

Check out this full episode.  If you don’t want to watch all of it, just take a gander at the 25:00 mark for about three-five minutes – you’ll see the intensity which is both laughable yet somehow brilliant:

I love when they show the blonde girl gasping with her hand over her mouth, as if someone’s dog had died.  Inspired by the former show ROBOT WARS as well as, I’m sure, the movie Real Steel, this show has it all! Sort of.

Found by the Junk Food Gal at our local Giant Food Gorcery, these Chex Mix Muddy Buddies Brownie Supreme are just another one in a line of Muddy Buddies Chex Mix flavors that I’ve eaten.  Let’s flip through some photos and then get to my review:

When I opened this bag of Chex Mix Muddy Buddies Brownie Supreme, all I could smell was the cocoa. And I LOVE smelling cocoa – this reminded me of opening a container of powdered cocoa, how that light brown mist wafts out, and the smell of deep chocolate…mmmmm.  I liked the smell…but would this taste like brownies?

Did these Chex Mix Muddy Buddies Brownie Supreme taste like brownies?  eh…………not so much.  But did they taste good?  Absolutely!  The flavor of the Corn Chex was very strong which is why even though the cocoa-ness of the flavor was very close to brownie taste, it didn’t quite make it.

That said, the overall flavor was very good, IMO.  VERY chocolatey, and the added cocoa powdering on the outside really kept that flavor going.  Crunchy, sweet, full of flavor – while I enjoy the traditional peanut butter and chocolate Muddy Buddies better, if you’re looking for just a pure chocolatey version, THIS IS IT.  Really tasty.

So conclusion: doesn’t taste like brownies, but I’d dump this into my mouth without hesitation in the future.
